I play piano, can read music, etc. I've taught my dd11 how to read music (basics, mostly treble cleff). For my youngers, I'm wondering if I should go with a program that DOESN'T teach how to read music at first, but gets them playing simple tunes right away (like Pianimals). This seems backwards to me b/c it's not how I learned, but thought I'd ask here. Any thoughts? Is Pianimals a good program? TIA

We've used it for about two years (going slowly) and I really like it. My son seems to like it as well. Perhaps you could buy just the first book and see how it works for your family?

Yes, things are going well here, though very slowly. Our piano ambitions are quite low. I just want DS to do a little bit every day, and he does. He loves Pianimals.
