Does anyone use SWO and ETC together?

I've been using ETC 3 with my dd8 to help her with phonics and spelling. I've been considering using SWO B with her as well. Since ETC is primarily a phonics program does she need something for spelling as well? I don't want to overload her. What do you think?

For him, it isn't too much. I just started my ds6 on SWO A and he uses ETC 2. Now, for him, it's a different story! He hates to write so I just make him do one page of ETC if it has any writing (2 pages if there is just circling or xing out stuff) and one page of SWO. I looked through SWO A and decided there was enough "new" words not covered in ETC that it might benefit him. Up until now, he just did ETC. I am also starting to use ds8's SWO words for dictation exercises once each week.
