We just finished up a multiplication on last week and I'm looking for something to do this week.

(Preferably just ideas, I don't want to spend anything)

We just finished doing the minit books for a subtraction lapbook. We have to get that together. This is the biggest problem I have with lapbooks; we are great with doing the minit books, but we fall down on the job when it comes to assembling it.

My youngest is doing a lapbook for Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear. My ds has decided that he would like to start a lapbook on Pirates. I found ideas for both of these lapbooks at HomeschoolShare (http://www.homeschoolshare.com)

We just finished our Groundhog Day one from HOAC. In the next 2 weeks, we will be doing a Rock one from HOAC (along with our rock study) and a Russia one (to wrap up our Russia Study) that I created on my own.

We are taking a free week from our regular workload and will do a lapbook on snow by HOAC and one on opposites that I found stuff for on my own.

Should be fun.

It is on World War 2, from HOAC. DS wants to do this, he has always resisted lapbooks in the past.

Hoping it goes well, if it does, I will probably do science with lapbooks.

To sweeten the pot, I told DS that the lapbook will be his only writing assignments for the two weeks we work on it.

We're lapbooking for American history, US geography, and Zoology. Our lapbooks tend to be year long projects so I don't have any short ideas.

Ds6 will be finishing the Ancient Civilizations History Pockets early this week, then the HOAC Deer lapbook is next on the agenda. Deer is free at HOAC right now, btw. Lapbooks get done one at a time during our block scheduled part of the day where we concentrate on one subject for a few hours everyday until we finish a unit then switch to another subject. Ds10 participates occasionally when I can easily adapt some of the work to his level (9th grade-ish). Our current planned list is:

Charolette's Web -HOAC + other worksheets (ds6)
Rocks and Minerals -HOAC (ds6 & ds10)
Operation English Grammar- HOAC + worksheets from Enchanted Learning(ds6)
Evolution - Made by me-still figuring it out (ds6, maybe ds10)
Animal Classification - HOAC (ds6)

We are doing a little bit each week for the Human Body as we come to it in the course of our study. Pennsylvania is for our State History requirement and we'll do a couple lessons each week. I'm looking to start a Dinosaur one w/ my ds6 in a week or so (my first attempt at one on my own!).

We have not done one in a long time, but this seems like a perfect time to ask if anyone has a recommendation for a GREAT Revolutionary War lapbook.

Anyone? Free would be nice, but if not free I will pay. But free is better. Free is always better.:)

This is actually for the Apologia Zoo 1 Class I am teaching at our homeschool co-op and 2 of my kids are in the class. We're learning about insects and I found a good site for an insect lapbook and it will be a great go-along. This is free and looks very good:

If you click on the Lapbook Template you can download the lapbook. :)

We didn't get to it last week, but we are supposed to do two sections for the TOG Y1U4 Rome lapbook. I have never done one before and I'm a bit unsure as to how to do them. <sigh>

I printed them out, we'll see if we can figure it out. I think the girls will like it, if we can manage to figure them out.

We finished our moon lapbook (adapted free HOAC download) and will start our Books of the Bible lapbook this week,if I can get my act together. After we are done, I'm going to give dd7 her first "real" bible (not just bible storybook, but real NlrV translation).

Here are some free ones you can check out & paste together your own: Homeschool Helper Online (http://www.homeschoolhelperonline.com/lapbooks.htm)

Hands of a Child (http://www.handsofachild.com/shop/Search.aspx?k=American+Revolution) has a really nice one. I like their lapbooks because they include guides with all the information needed to complete the lapbook.

We are currently using Live and learns Biology, Astronomy and will use Zoology 1 next month.... and Knowledge Box Centrals folds for Tapestry of Grace... This will take us the year.

What we have done son far and completed is Lewis and Clark, also from Live and learn Press. We will use the civil war one by them as well in the upcoming months.

And currently I am getting ready for Amy Paks Artist study. This will be done on the side. :D
