Hello,

I was planning to make a switch to Shiller next year for my soon to be 8 yo. I have been trying to find it used, but no such luck. After reading as much as I could find about the program, I heard there is a gap between kit 1 and kit 2, but not much detail on what that gap is.

SO before I take the plunge and plunk down over $300 can someone please explain to me exactly what the gap is and maybe give me an idea of how you avoided or bridged that gap? Will it be an inexpensive fix, like a simple workbook, or will I need to purchase a whole other curriculum?

Thank You!

I bought both kits for my youngest two kids. Looking at lessons and the table of contents I don't see any gaps. I don't know what the comments are about. I researched the program a lot before i decided to buy. Where did you find this comment about a perceived gap? The only thing I've heard is that you might need to supplement with some drill, but we already drill math facts with Cap Jax Math Fax so I feel I have that covered.

Thanks for the reply!

I cannot remember where I first read it, I think it was on someones blog. They had used kit 1 and then opened the first book in kit 2 and realized they had not learned what needed to be done and had to backtrack a bit. They did not go into more detail than that, and I think I read a couple more places (someone elses blog, and a review maybe?) that there was a gap between kits.

I appreciate your input, it sounds as if there is any such gap it would be a fairly easy "fix".
