I went to the cle yahoo group and was reading up on it to learn more. I noticed that there is a difference between sunrise and non sunrise- Which version do I want? And there was a mention to the aop website to purchase the placement unit test. Does this mean it is the same thing as a lifepac unit?
Please help me clarify! Thank you thank you!!:)
Years ago CLE got rights to Alpha Omega's LifePacs and reworked and rewrote them to reflect their priorities as conversative Mennonites and called them LightUnits. Over time they decided that the basic format was good, but that the content and layout need some improvements. They started rewriting and reformatting the LightUnits as "Sunrise Edition" LightUnits. They also wrote their own placement tests for these LightUnits. IMHO you want the "Sunrise Edition" courses. They are much better than the older ones in many ways, although the older ones are good too.
Either way, you can't buy an Alpha Omega placement test and use it for CLE or jump between the two without some problems. CLE has it's foundations in Alpha Omega, but too many changes have been made since they split off. They are not at all the same thing.

You want the Sunrise editions. The non-Sunrise are the Lifepacs ones.

But it's the same type of question I was gonna post. :001_smile: So, does anyone have any experience with switching between CLE and A/O lifepac for math? We are currently doing CLE level 200 math, we did CLE level 100 math last year. Both levels 100 and 200 that we've done are the Sunrise version. My son will need 3rd grade math soon. We have had someone offer us the A/O lifepac third grade math. Would this be comparable to CLE's 3rd grade sunrise math, as far as content? Would I be able to switch back to CLE's 4th gade sunrise math with minimal problems?
Thanks!
Bethany
