I have the following items already, but don't mind suggestions!

World History....Speilvogel...I have the student and teacher texts...how would I use just these resources...should I have a workbook or tests? The other thing she could do is continue SOTW series with younger brother (she REALLY enjoys this series). She does additional readings from KHE or encyclopedias, does an outline or summary or writes a short report on an important person from the week's readings. We do mapwork and she even does the tests. (My schedule doesn't have her doing history this year, but working on world geography (9th grade requirement...she does SOTW for enjoyment).

Literature/Composition..LLATL Gold...British Lit

Vocabulary...Vocabulary for the High School Student or Voc. From Classical Roots...undecided...she is currently doing Vocabulary for Enjoyment so VFHSS would be next...

Algebra 2 AND Geometry...Teaching Textbooks...dd plans to do both of these for 10th

Chemistry...stumped on this one...we really like labs...she is using Walch Power Basics plus other biology resources with lots of labs for this year...suggestions for Chemistry???

We are doing art this year...maybe music appreciation for 10th???

She plays club soccer year 'round and plays on our homeschool league for part of the year and plays indoor soccer as well...that takes care of P.E.

Please advise me of anything I'm missing...we don't necessarily follow the "classical" method for high school, but a more traditional "school" path. I'm just looking for helpful suggestions.

Thanks,
Robin

I didn't see that you listed a foreign language.
I outsourced lab sciences so I can't help with those.

Your plan looks good so far.

I knew I left something off!!!

I'm also looking for a regular ol' textbook approach to Spanish. I like the looks of BJU. I'm sure there are others that might be better. We tried an immersion program once...long ago...not for dd. I don't think she'd mind some computer lessons, especially for pronunciation purposes...I've hear SOS Spanish is decent. Thoughts?

Thanks again,
Robin

My 10th grade son will be doing......
Spielvogel for History (no history here this year either) I have TOG and may pull from that too
Henle Latin (for the second year)
Algebra 2 or Geometry (we are using FutureSchool and he likes it, or he may go to the community college)
English (Write Source or community college)
Chemistry (I'm stumped here as I don't want to teach this at home) I just took Chemistry 2 semesters ago at the local college, so I may send him there

He also does Theatre, Community Service (after school program for elementary kids)

Does your dd need Drivers Ed? My son is taking it this year, but 10th grade is the traditional year to take it.

My dd will be doing:

AP History - through PAH

Latin - me or SO?

Engish Lit - SO

Spelling - VFCR (E); then Vocab for High School Student

AP Econ - through PAH

Chemistry - Teaching Co DVD series, textbook is Chemistry and Chemical Reactivity with workbook; Joy of Chemistry for labs; and, Thinkwell for reinforcement of concepts, quizzes, and exams.

Precalculus - Chalkdust

These are our plans. They could always change before next year.

you could use the Study Guide to Accompany World History, by Bonnie Zucker Goldsmith. The ISBN is: 0-314-22496-3; there's also a Teacher's Edition for the study guide; its ISBN is: 0-538-42767-1. Also, there's a Map Workbook; that ISBN is: 0-314-14174-X. These all accompany the 1999 Edition of World History by Spielvogel. If your dd is well-grounded with SOTW resources and does plenty of outside reading, she should have no trouble moving into the World History book.

HTH!
