I just finished reading "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. Nice, long, easy read. A rather soap opera like story set in the middle ages. Some violence and some sex, but this is an book for grownups. It would make a nice vacation read. Is Ken Follett going to write any more in this style?

I invite you to share your "not so heavy" reading choices. Sometimes Mom's get so caught up in the serious stuff we sometimes forget a little "brain candy" is okay.

Let's see, the last brain candy I consumed was Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. Gobbled it up, I did.;)

Yes, I had to enter the "young adult" section to get it. Yes, I was embarassed. But it was worth it.

I like Ken Follet but rarely think to purposely look for his books. Thanks for posting this!

(Just went to our library site to reserve the book--I'm #99. It may be a while before I get to read this one. Sigh.)

It's one of her Monk novels. I like to read one of them every once in a while, but this one is a little too predictable. Ah, well. At least she writes well.:)
