Good job! I'm dreaming of the day when I can run most of 4 miles!
No run for me today; I'm trying to decide which workout I want to do instead.

Okay - how do those of you with small children run if your dh isn't home? Dh is out of town for the week and I just can't get in a run! I could push the stroller and have the other two (who cannot be left home together alone yet! I'm afraid the police would be called for the screaming!) ride bikes. But, the thought of it just isn't appealing! I love running alone.
So, I've been doing strength training this week. I'll do a cardio video today. I also walked my kids to karate (2 miles) every night this week. Can't do it tonight though as I need to immediatelly turn around and get another child to another activity.
So, how am I going to feel when I do get back out to run on Saturday? Should I expect it to be hard all over again?

And then at 25 minutes the bladder would not behave so I had to walk.
I was very proud of myself. There is at least one high school team that meets at the park where I run. (I say at least one team since there seem to be soo many kids!) I came around a corner and ended up ahead of a group of high school girls. I managed to stay ahead of them for 3/4 mile! When you're slow like me, that is an accomplishment. In fact the reason they passed me when they did is because I took the real path and they took the short cut most people take.

I can leave my oldest in charge while I go. What I usually do is allow them to watch a video while I am gone. They are used to me going so I don't have too many problems.
When you run on Saturday, you should be fine. You have been doing other cardio and stregth training and that can only improve your running.:001_smile:
I am gearing up for a 6 miler!

With your 12 yo, can you leave him in charge and then like Elaine said, leave a video in?
When mine were too young to stay home, I did put th littlest in the stroller and have the other 2 ride bikes with me. They didn't like it. I wasn't sure I liked it. But it did work.

Way to go!
I'm taking the day off. Partly because I still take a day off in between runs and partly because we have taekwondo tonight and I find that if I run on those days, I have a hard time at class.

Don't you hate it when the bladder doesn't cooperate. Good job keeping ahead of the high schoolers. I'm a very slow runner too, so you aren't alone.

Good luck on your 6 mile!!! How long does that take you?
I would leave the oldest in charge, but he is gone with dh. Guess I should've mentioned that heh? LOL I really don't feel comfy leaving the 10 yo with the 7 and 2 yo. Actually, I think I'd leave the 2 yo in charge before leaving the 10 yo! LOL j/k

Yea. I think I may have to try that. Maybe tomorrow. It's SOOOOO humid here today. We just walked 2 miles (olders on bikes) and I am drenched in sweat.
