The menu is NC barbeque, brisket, cole slaw, loaded potato salad, baked beans, hush puppies. Beer, soda, sweet tea. Banana pudding and cakes (can't have a birthday party without a cake, right?).

DH wants to have snacks out. I guess for before an dafter he actual meal. What do you suggest? I am not cooking! So it has to be something I can buy already finished.

chips/pretzels and check mix. You don't really have anything crunchy and you don't have to worry about keeping them cool. Or you could buy a veggie tray and have that with dip(s), but you will have to keep those cool! Or you could set out cheese and crackers and olives.

Exactly what I was going to recommend. Have fun!

I don't think this is lame at all! It's easy, everyone loves it, actually I think its classic. :)

I would add fresh fruit with dip, and some kettle chips. Maybe some cheese and crackers too.

How about tortilla chips with different salsa's? Trader Joe's has a nice mango salsa and a peach salsa that's really good.

Also, store bought hummus or roasted red pepper dips are nice. You can cut up some nice fresh bread to go along side (or toast it if your up to it.)
