I am just curious because for Level B we never seemed to use the worksheets that came with the program. Instead I found myself downloading worksheets from themathworksheetsite (http://www.themathworksheetsite.com)

They were tied to the lesson and not just drill. I would not have wanted to be without them.

Yes, the student book is absolutely necessary. There is SOOO much more in the student books once you hit level C. They are a necessary part of the program and you can't tell what is in the student book by just looking at the teacher edition.

Absolutely you need the student worksheets. And even in B, when you skipped her worksheets for learning to add thousands, you missed the progression of the problems and the way Dr. Cotter helps them discover the process. You missed the handy columns that help keep the student's writing neat. With level C you'll probably continue making your own worksheets for the drill, since I assume anything you're making is snazzier or prettier than the plain jane sheets included by RS. But as far as the regular lesson worksheets and the weekly review sheet, absolutely you want those. The problems aren't included in the tm either, only the answers, so you literally wouldn't have a clue what she needed to be working. The worksheets in C often have a unique twist on the side leading them to discover an upcoming concept. Yes, you need the worksheets.
