It is a weighted belt that the child wears that helps them feel "centered" and helps to calm them down to do their tasks. I think it may work for my 7yodd but I wanted to see if anyone else has used it.
Here is their web site:

(think fishing vest with lead weights) My ds's therapist recommended heavy shoes and heavy blankets to sleep under.
So the principal behind the weight belt is good for SID. I just wonder if a weighted vest might be better for the child's posture after looking at picture of the child wearing one.

We had a weighted vest and a weighted blanket. The OT recommended very light wrist weights for ankle weights. All had a calming effect on him and helped him sit still and sit upright. (Well, the blanket helped him lie still.)

Dana,
Went to the Miracle Belt website you posted and was amazed with how informative the site was. If you get a chance goto the FAQ page on the Miracle Belt site and read "Why is the Miracle Belt more effective than a weighted vest?". Very informative and common sense to me. Wish the Miracle Belt was out there when my child was younger.
The belt is so much more affordable as well... I paid upwards of $100 dollars for the vest I bought and the belt is half that with a 30 day money back guarantee. No Brainer on this one.
Let me know if I can help you out with anything else.
Sally
