I don't have time for a long post. But I do have numerous thoughts. I would post them on my blog, but I think I like it here better!

I have been SOOO stressed and busy in the last few months that I haven't really posted. So I look like the total beginner here with no posts. Kinda irks me, so here I am posting something. I've been around for 6 or 7 years so I better get postin'.

Put my older son back in high school for some morning classes. There was too much stress here in the mornings and it was effecting the schooling of my 7 year old dd. Total downshift in expectations, academics, etc but I've become a better, more patient, less stressed mommy. And that is good. For example, he came home with an assignment to read an adaptation of an O Henry short story. He has already read the original last year, do we really need to adapt that story anyway, and the adaptation was a comic book. A real comic book. *sigh*

My daughter got 1st place all-around for her age group and level, in her gymnastics competition a couple weeks ago! I'm so proud of her!

I've lost a total of 91.4 pounds since I've started loosing in September of 2006. I have about 10 to go. I feel good, look good, and eat good!

The economy is bothering me too. I live in an expensive area, although you wouldn't think of Maine that way, I guess. Everything is up and we drive 40 minutes each way to gymnastics, church, youth group, and doctors. Gymnastics is 10 hours a week so you can imagine!!! We are really scaling back on everything...we already had! And my hubby seems to be getting paid less and less. Not sure how to make it without me going to work.

Thats all for now. I have to get ready for the kids piano recital! Then off to gymnastics for 4 hours!

I feel better now that I've updated you all. Like you were waiting for it, right????

Congratulations to dd on her gymnastics! I know what a time commitment anything like that can be, having lived in Maine where everything seems to be at least 30-40 minutes away!

Tanner has become totally obsessed with all things firefighting and still talks about the time we met your dh! He is desperately looking for a "cadet" type program around here that will take him. Alas, there is not much demand for a 13yo!

Yay, you for the weight loss. You should be so proud of yourself! That is not an easy thing to do with kids around!

I hope we can see you next summer. We'll be there in August-probably early in the month.

:)

Wow! Lots going on there! I'm glad that though your son is getting a break in school, you are doing better because of it. Some days it starts lookin' real good! But we're not there yet... I think when ours are in highschool we may make the same decision but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Glad it is working for you though.

Now tell us exactly how you accomplished it... only don't say it was exercising and eating right. We don't want to hear that!

kidding.

I've been wondering how you were, too.

Hey, there is a "Wendy in ME" on the boards - she's in southern Maine and she mentioned in a post that she knows no other homeschooling families around her. I thought of you - any groups you might be able to point her to?

Yup. Quite a few, I think. I'll search the boards and see if I can find her.
