Not strictly online, maybe I should say a grading service.
I know about Hewitt, Kolbe, Potters, Keystone and American School.
I know that Memoria Press has some classes as well.
What others am I missing?
I'm looking for flexibility though...for instance we are using Teaching Textbooks and need to continue with that.
Thanks very much,
RhondaM.

Hi Rhonda. I am looking into the same thing. At the top of our list is the Veritas Press Scholars Program. Live classes, and they do the grading and testing as well. We will probably do the full course load, but you can take individual classes too.
I'll be interested to see the responses to this as well.

I've used Crossroads Christians School for the past 5 years. I can use whatever curriculum I want. I only have to report to them once a year and I have a choice between sending them work samples and lesson plans or sending them yearly standardized test scores. They make report cards for each child based off the paperwork that I've sent in, do official transcripts, and diplomas.

It does not look as if they grade papers though. I need that most of all.
My ds thinks he would like to attend a new private school in our area next year (for 10th) and I'd be willing to let him if he goes through an online private school first.
He not only needs to be accountable to someone besides me, but he will need grades to give to the private school.

The only other one I can think of then is Christian Liberty Press, but I don't think they'll allow you to use your own curriculum.

NorthStar Academy (http://www.northstar-academy.org) is a fully accredited (through a regional accrediting body) Christian online school. Students can take a course or two at a time or they can be fully enrolled, progressing toward a diploma. You need to use their curriculum, though it is also possible to take a challenge exam to gain credit in a course after you've used your own materials. That may work best for math or science but you have to make sure you've covered all the topics in the course in order for the student to have the best chance of passing the exam.

K12 International Academy has part time enrollment, so you can use other texts. I think, not sure.:glare: Apex, is much cheaper and challenging, but no diploma. They are certified.

Regina Coeli academy (http://www.reginacoeli.org)grades, teaches, everything. I am also a teacher there, but I had kids that went through the entire program before ever starting to teach there. It is fantastic and the most full service online school there is when you compare what services are actually rendered in the course by the teachers. I would characterize Memoria press classes as more of an online resource than a class as they do almost no grading, and they don't grade quarterly exams or chapter tests if you read closely the class descriptions. It seem they mostly just have self checking quizzes and online lectures.

For the veritas press online scholars program, do you get a discount if you take the full load of courses vs. individual classes? Anyone know?
Thanks,
Lora

Scholars Online does grade full year courses but not the summer ones in my limited experience. The amount of work submitted for grading varies with the course.

No, Lora, they don't. We took a full course load and there was no discount. I think it's a good idea though, and I might ask them about that.

Thanks for the info. My oldest daughter is taking Omnibus II Primary and Secondary this year (she took Omnibus III last year and LOVED it) and I really want to put her in Comp II also, but I just wondered if there was a discount for a full load...too bad there's not. My youngest daughter is taking General Science and Latin I...should be a great year :D
