I am planning for next yr, 4th gr DD and 2nd gr DS. This will be our first yr, coming out of PS. I think I am leaning heavily towards FLL for son who is very wiggly and I think will need a good 1 on 1 program. I also want to do the new WWE writing program with both of them. DS is reading and spelling about 4 grade levels ahead, so I want a good, thorough grammar program. I also think she will be happier with quite a bit of her daily load being workbook oriented and independent. I am hoping WWE will be good for her to because she loves to write. Any comments on GWG vs ABEKA for us? Thanks!:)

GWG sounds like a perfect fit. We've been using the Grade 4 materials this year & my dd pretty much does it independently. The book is clear & concise (dd reads it herself) & then the worksheets provide practice on both the new material & previously learned material. One thing that I think is particularly nice is that the worksheet includes info on where to look up the info in the book (in case the student can't remember exactly what something is or how to do it). It's a great book for transitioning to independent work.
Because of this program, my dd loves grammar (& is very good at grammar).
