Glad I asked below about Chalkdust Elementary maths. Now I am on the hunt for a 5th grade math for my daughter next year.
We are currently using Abeka and not happy with it. I looked at Singapore and i am not sure about it.
We have used Saxon and MCP in the past, we don't want to use Saxon again.

What approach are you looking for? Mastery or spiral? Does your child still need manipulatives? That will help with making suggestions.

She is not a math person at all. She doesn't need manipulatives, sometimes I come up with something, when she just can't grasp what is being taught, to use them every day, would not go well.

Horizons worked really well with the boys until I needed additional assurance and assistance with teaching. The colors and interesting twists on doing some of the "same ol, same ol's" kept it interesting. I hated Saxon for K-3rd but it fits perfectly for us from 4th grade on. I never would have guessed it. Also, the double teaching from DIVE and me has really solidified what they learn.

Hope that helps!

How about TT 6 or 7? Easy on mom :)

I really do like Singapore. I'm not sure about picking it up in fifth, however. Have you looked at the Key to..... series? It might help you bridge the gap to upper level maths....

I'd second either using TT 6 (is looks doable for 5th grade...my dd, restrating homeschool halfway through her fifth grade year, is going into TT6) or Developmental Math.

I plan to transition my oldest dd over to that after next year. We are currently using A Beka Math grade 5 also. I plan to use A Beka for 6th, then move on to Teaching Textbooks 7 (or whatever level she will need at the time.)
HTH!

You sound like a mathy-type person which is really a huge plus. My second DS is not a mathy person and we are doing quite well with Singapore. When he needs review or extra time with a concept I back up and give that to him. We also use Key to Series, and Singapore's Topical Problems Sums books to add some extra practice to the mix.
