Do y'all remember the LA makeover I was doing a couple of mos ago? Changing bookshelves, sofa, making curtains, etc.? That I promised pics of?
They're on my blog.
Below are pics of today's canvas/velcro project.

What a great idea! I wish I had seen this when my boys were intent on tearing up bookshelves.

Okay, Aubrey, I just have to say, I thought you were going to show us *bOOkshelf* pics. I wasn't sure it there had been a complete overhaul, or just new shelving. However, your bookshelves are very nice!

I never figured out how to stop her - she turned 4 on saturday and STILL enjoys emptying them :glare:
Everything you have done looks great - did you decide on moving the computer or not?

That's awesome!!!
I can't remember where I was going to move my computer, lol. I did put the screen on the bookshelf, & now my neck hurts from typing one direction while looking the other. Heh heh.

I love the idea that you use that board with the hangers for the scissors and such. That is such a great idea!
So, I am not the only one who has taken over the living room. That makes me feel so much better now. LOL

Well, we're in seminary housing, & we had to get *really* practical. We have about 1100 sf, which is a blessing, but no garage, no outside storage, & the distribution of space...well, there's not much in the "shared" areas of the house, kwim?
I'd always wanted a house w/ 2 la's, though, so that one could be a private area for all of our hs, crafts, movies, etc. A basic junk room. We had 2 la's at our house, but the front one was FRONT, as in the front door opened into it, & the back one was carpeted w/ white carpet. We hung out in my office instead, but that was about 9'x9', lol.

Wonderful! I should do something like that to my kitchen cabinets while we await doors. :-P Where did you get the canvas, did you have to finish the edges and, if so, how, and how costly was it?

Very cozy. I could see myself drinking coffee with a book in my hands, feet propped up while I wait for you to finish changing the baby and get everyone situated so we could have 10 minutes to talk. I could sit there and wait a while and be so content.

Actually, I bought it a couple of yrs ago to make a rug for our hardwood-floored house & never got around to it.
Finish the edges? Nope, & don't look too close, lol!
Since I bought it a while back, though, I have no idea what the cost was. I count anything from my "stash" as "free." ;)
