I'm so excited! When we decided yesterday to clear the decks here in the school room (move the T.V. downstairs) we also decided to look online for some old fashioned school desks because they are so solidly made and the big old kitchen table we've been using up here has just been piling up with stuff and it's really hard to keep it clear.

So I got online yesterday and found three (ultimately I am looking for four). Even though most of them had been listed for over a month they were all still available and all three were here within city limits (still a bit of a drive but not too bad.) I'm so happy! We went and picked the first one up this afternoon and it's in great condition. I swear these things are eternal! LOL

I'll take a picture when I have the first two. The lady who owns the third one is on vacation until the end of March (poor thing! :p) but I asked her to hold onto it for us and I think she will. Yay!

Just had to share. It will be nice for each boy to have his own space and his own place to keep his books (they have shelves/drawers under the seat.)

sells them for like $1, BUT they are usually in pretty rough shape (grafitti and scratches and paint, etc.) but a friend got 3 nice ones for like $1 each there.

You know what is funny? I am trying to get rid of my desks and replace them with a big table!!!

Now that my kids are getting older, esp my 7th grader, they sometimes have to spread out multiple books per subject and things end up falling off the desktop.

But we loved our desks for many, many years.
