Continue R&S 7 or take a break and do LLATL?

Ds 13 has just finished R&S 6 for Grammar,and I had planned to move to R&S 7 this next school year. However, I was wondering if it would hurt or hinder him to take a break from R&S and do LLATL this year. He's always done R&S,and I feel he has a good foundation in grammar. I was wondering if anyone has done this? I was thinking I would resume R&S7 in the 8th grade year. BTW, we will be doing Sentence Composing for Elementary students this year for writing.(He's ADHD/SPD, and requires us working below grade level in some areas)

Why not? Especially if you will be returning to it in 8th gr. It might be a nice diversion to do another program which focuses on different things. My older dd did R&S gr. 7 in 8th and R&S 8 in 9th. My younger dd will be doing the same thing.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I'm actually looking forward to a change of scenery from R&S! I do love the curriculum, but it's been rigorous to say the least for the past 4 years!

Another vote for LLATL. My dd11 finished R&S5 and we were set to move into 6 but then I got LLATL Green (7th grade) for her which teaches diagramming. Well, I love the simplicity of it. We started "light school" yesterday (math and LLATL and reading) and she is done her lessons in no time. Simple is good. :D

I think it's a great idea. We are doing the same thing, but using Easy Grammar Plus instead of LLATL. We will return and do R&S 7 whenever we finish EG. My youngest will take a break after R&S 4 and do Analytical Grammar Jr. before going to R&S 5. Or we may do it before 4, not sure yet.
