I admit. We have credit card debt. Will for a while yet. But, even though we have a good interest rate, I'm wanting to transfer the balances somewhere else. CHASE is driving me CRAZY! (No offense if someone works for Chase -- I don't mean it personally!)

We ALREADY have their cards. But now they call us ALL the time (almost every day) to offer us some new card with some other perks or some other product. And even though we ALREADY have their cards on the paperless service, our mailbox is STILL stuffed with their special offers or transfer checks or whatever.

We're on the Do Not Call list, so it must not apply to companies you use.

So . . . any recommendations? Until we get it all paid . . .

I've used USAA for many, many years and don't plan to change. I believe that the company gets very high ratings for its customer service and for not gouging its customers with outrageous fees.

I don't get any e-mail solicitation from them, but will occasionally get something in the mail.

I don't think you need a military connection to get its credit cards.

I was going to say almost anybody but Chase. We had some problems a couple of years ago and while the other companies worked with us Chase did not. They only raised our rate to 29.99%. Citibank was great and worked with us and Washington Mutual has been good so far. :) Right now they have all our Chase debt and I never plan to use Chase for anything if I can at all help it. Our goal is to have no debt in another 2 to 3 years anyway.

We pay it off every month so I don't know what the interest rate is, but they have been very easy to work with and pleasant on the phone.

I love this. Instead of getting cash back, I get gift certificates from Barnes & Noble. I use the gift certificates to buy most of my Sonlight books as well as Christmas gifts.

We have had no problems with them - the don't call us all the time like Discover does. We have the Drivers' Edge card with them so we get money towards the purchase of our next car, but they have lots of other types of cards too. I like Discover too for the cashback bonus, just wish they wouldn't call trying to upgrade my card all of the time.

Geico is terrific. We've had them all but it's nice to have your rebates go to pay your car insurance, if you so choose, and you can easily access them online. I went shopping for a new one when Bank of America bought out our Master Card. I DO NOT like BofA - they make it very difficult to get in touch with them. We've had good experiences with Citibank but too many false charges that required tracking. Smooth sailing with Geico!
