We're going to Disney in a couple weeks and I ordered tickets to the Pirate/Princess Party at Magic Kingdom. I have the general info but was wondering to hear a little more about it. It's at night and it's February so I guess we'll need to dress warmly. Dd7 will wear her Sleeping Beauty costume from halloween. Ds10 will wear a Jack Sparrow costume that dh found on clearance. They are really excited. What can I expect?

We were there on the 26th. It was our second year and as long as they continue it, I think it will be a family tradition. We meet up with dh family and all the 8 cousins get to have alot of fun together!!

The crowds are low, you walk right onto the rides.

They have a great firework show. You want to watch from the front of the castle as they use all kinds of lighting to play up the story and I think Tinkerbell also makes her appearance.

There's also a special parade just for the event. Watch for Tinkerbell, its the first time she's been in a DW parade and she does a great job.

There's character meet and greets thruout the park - but we have skipped those, so I don't know how long the lines are.

This year they seem to be only distributing jewels and beads at the treasure spots - no candy like last year and as according to their advertising. The kids love looking for the treasure "X"s as we walk through the park. Even the boys like getting their treasure!

Weather may be tricky. Last year I think we went on the coldest night of the year. My princess had long sleeves and sweatpants on under her dress. This year we were prepared for cold since the weather said the low would be in the 40s. But we never needed our jackets and except for some intermittent rain we were quite comfortable.

We got there at 6:15 and they let us right in - we asked and they told us they started letting people in at 4 pm. This is consistent with some other reviews I read online. I'd take advantage of that for the rides and then you can do some of the other characters or dance parties.

They have some restaurants open, but very few snack vendors.

We got that Jack Sparrow costume also from the Disney Store for $12.50 - it's a great costume and it was plenty warm enough with a long sleeve t underneath.

You will have a great time - my kids never stopped talking about it after going last year, so we got tickets for all the cousins this year as a Christmas gift.

Have alot of fun!!!!:)

We've been to all the "special" nights at Disney (since we live close by), and I think the Pirates and Princesses Party is the best! DO get there early. You can get in at 4:00, you just have to go to an entrance over on the far right-hand side. It is important to do this, as the hours go by SO quickly.

We went this summer, and they had the stations with candy. We don't waste much time on that--I mean, you can get candy anywhere! But do get in a good spot for the fireworks. They are the best! Try to be in front of the castle or nearby (we found this was a good time to get a bite to eat and find our "spot").

The weather right now is tricky. It could be rather warm at 4:00, but it cools off quickly when the sun goes down. So bring jackets, and maybe even a change of clothes for the kids. Oh, and the strollers were free! So get one (or even two). I've never had anything stolen from a stroller at Disney, and we've gone several times.

The music near some of the treasure spots can be really loud. Most rides you can walk right on, and go over and over again. Be sure to check out "Laugh Floor" if you haven't done it. My kids loved it.

We like to ride the monorail over because it's faster, but then take the ferry back to the parking lot to just relax and rest our feet before driving home. If you are a little patient, you can go to the front of the line for the monorail and sit in the cool "pointy" part with a great view.

I guess that's about all I can think of. Have a wonderful time and say "Hello" to Mickey!

The party tickets arrived in the mail yesterday. My kids were literally jumping up and down. They make it seem as though they don't go anywhere:rolleyes: I will definitely try and get there early. We made an appointment for dd7 at the Bippety Boppity Boutique(I'm sure that I misspelled it) We are going to the one that isn't in Magic Kingdom(they were booked). So we'll have her get her princess-do and then head over to the park. The hair appointment is expensive but it's a once in a lifetime thing. I haven't told her about it. She'll be so surprised:D We are all so psyched!
