I watched the video online (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5700431505846055184) (absolutely marvelous and tear-jerking), but I've been wondering if the book is as good and whether or not it would be worth buying.

My dh read it and liked it, but I got the impression from what he said that there's not a lot in it that wasn't in the lecture. I'd ask him for more detail but he's out of town right now. Hope you get more helpful replies!

I haven't heard the lecture but did read the book. I enjoyed it! The book had a lot of humor as well as food for thought. I'm glad I read it.

I really enjoyed the book. However, I got mine at the library because I am not sure it is worth buying. I haven't watched the whole lecture but I did see parts. It seems very similar and, since I read it in one day, I just got it at the library. There were 19 requests ahead of me but it was worth the wait.

Excellent notion! Why didn't I think of that? :)

I just put it on hold and I am only #40 on the list. :)

I borrowed it from the library, also. I had seen the video of his lecture before reading the book and thought it was still worth reading. Of course it will be similar because the book is based on his lecture, but he does go into a little more detail in the book. I really liked the last section. I am still considering purchasing the book because it is one where you can open it up to any page, read it and be inspired. Definitely a good read! :)

I bought it even though I had seen the lecture. It was a good enough book that I'll give it away when the family is finished with it. The 16 year old still needs to read it and then I'll pass it on to someone; I know several people who need to focus on what is really important and perhaps this book might be a nudge.
In our town, being number 40 on the waiting list would take about a year.
