I have decided to not add any extra grammar to WT1 for next year (4th) then we will slide right into JAG for 5th and WT2. We are doing GWG3 this year. And i dont really have any complaints, but to be honest with you....it feels like busy work (which is fine for this year) But, there will be more on her plate next year with reading and writing that it would get cumbersome to add another workbook. I would rather touch on this stuff in her writing assignments (where it is meaningful) then to have her do a worksheet everyday. So, it is nice to condense for next year. I am looking so forward to WT! I am also excited about the idea if JAG and AG. It makes sense to me!

That's cool! I used JAG w/ my older ds when he was in 4th. It hit the spot! He loved diagramming sentences. I added a workbook for other mechanics and usage topics. And we did literature repsonse journals and paragraph writing. It all came together well.

Johanna: I just watched the JAG video last night and couldn't agree more! I calmed down about grammar. I was so uptight, but what Erin said made total sense and reiterated what my gut was saying (but I wasn't listening...a problem I tend to have!)

My daughter has been so bummed about Grammar lately, when we review it she remembers it fine, she just hates the "work". My gut said GWG was busywork and too workbook oriented for us, although everyone seems to love it so. We're going to finish this year with FLL and I will get some Evan Moor workbook type stuff to aid in the "marinating" process...but then will go to JAG next year around mid year.

My dd does need to concentrate on getting reading down before she can go further.
