I am *so* loving Coldplay's Viva la Vida!!

Out with Michael Pearl, in with Chris Martin. I've gotta lighten my mood. So who else has listened to Viva la Vida over and over (and over)? I love, love, love it ~ I'm listening to it as a type. Hear that a-ha (remember the Norwegian band, 80s groupies?) influence?

A few weeks ago I got this wild hair and decided I just had to go to the Coldplay concert in Zurich at the end of September. Okay, I didn't (and don't) have tix yet to Switzerland, but that's beside the point.:tongue_smilie: Then I started thinking about the crowds and the scene and I asked my Swiss b-i-l who was just here last month if he'd want to go with me but he's already heard Coldplay live and wasn't too interested, so...I back-burnered my grandiose plan.

And hey, on a totally different note, Spain triumphed over Germany in Sunday's EuroCup final. Who else watched that? Anyone, anyone? Makes me want to cast off my Germanic roots and go all Spanish. Viva la Vida!

I think the last time I bought a CD I was about three years shy of being a wife and mother. I almost never listen to music (don't have an iPod, btw) unless I'm at home alone or in the car alone. Primary reason being I want to listen to it way LOUD and with no other noise around at all. My home stereo is screwy, too, so that's one more reason not to buy music. Plus, the library's free. For the past month, I've had two CDs checked out from the library ~ one from Vertical Horizon, the other the soundtrack from "Once". Both terrific, btw.

All the listening Viva la Vida listening I've done is strictly here on the computer. I honestly do think I'm going to have to fork over the money for the whole album, though.

I've always liked Coldplay, but not enough to consider plunking down the money. The songs I've heard so far I've *loved* from the first listen. It was the songs that grabbed me, not the "Coldplay" name.

Yep, I've listened to a few songs from X&Y and didn't care for them at all. Viva la Vida has a totally different sound/influence. Check out some of the tunes and let me know what you think!
