Intelli-Tunes Skip Counting CD. It doesn't have a bunch of lyrics, it gets down to the nuts and bolts which is nice. Here's the post from when I was researching this...

We make up our own tunes. I found that we really only needed a few songs. We didn't need songs for 2s, 5s, 10s, 11s.

ex. 3s to the tune of Jingle Bells

Also, do you know the tricks for 4s (double double) and 8s (double double double)? :cool:

4x7= double 7=14, double 14=28 so 4x7=28
8x7= double 7=14, double 14=28, double 28=56

So we didn't need songs for 4 or 8 either.

They have a few different skip counting options, and you can hear samples. They also have a TON of interesting, fun auditory resources.

Warmly,

We have 100 Sheep and Bible Heroes (search for Skip Count Kid, which is the secular version). I like both of these. What I don't like about both of them: Neither has a song for the 12s. And both have too much story and not enough skip counting. And as someone else said, I hate to pay for a song for the 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, and 11s. :( I would trade all those for a song for the 12s.

Oh well. The songs are fun.

Somebody else said that the CD that comes with Classical Conversation has skip counting all the way up to 15 or something. I haven't heard that one.

Also, MUS has a skip count song, but a lot of people report that it's awful.

Yep, Classical Conversations does skip count up to 15s and then also skip counts the squares and the cubes! It's on their Foundations memory cds (both powerpoint and audio). All the cycles have the same math memory work so it doesn't matter which one you get.

FYI: The songs are straight skip counting, not stories.

QUOTE]

Try to say the 12s to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
"12........24, 36"
How I wonder what you are
"48 ....60"
Up above
"72"
The world so high
"84....."
Like a diamond in the sky
"96....stars in the sky"
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
"1...o...8 (one....oh...eh..eight), 120"
How I wonder what you are
"132.....144"

Thanks! That challenges my musical training, but I'll work on it! Really, thanks.
