Reviews on The New World?

Has anyone viewed the movie The New World? Would you mind commenting about it? It's rated PG-13 for intense battle scenes. I was wondering if there were other scenes that would be inappropriate for family viewing. Were beginning to study Jamestown and I happened to see this at the library. Thumbs up or thumbs down??? Thanks for your help.

IF so it was so annoying due to the love story part. I may have over exagerated the annoying factor due to the fact that my husband *hated* it.

I agree with the above post. I actually kind of enjoyed the film because the cinematography was beautiful, but my husband thought it was extremely boring. The focus was definitely on the love story, and for some reason, I don't remember there being a ton of dialogue. I liked it because it was artistic, but it probably wouldn't be that exciting for the family.

I agree with Quincy, the cinematography was gorgeous. I don't remember inappropriate scenes, but it has been quite awhile since I saw it.
