I'm on the hunt for a great Grammar curriculum for my 5th grader.
She started R&S4 then we switched to FLL3. We got through the FLL book but it didn't do much for her. I need something and I'm feeling really lost. She did good with R&S but says she doesn't want to go back to that one.
So far I'm considering:
Growing With Grammar 5
Abeka Language B
Grammar With A Giggle
Anyone used these? Have something amazing that you use and want to share about it?? :)

With my oldest, I used BJU for grammar. With my youngest I am using GWG. HTH

Winston Grammar might be a good solution for you.

I'm going to be doing Junior Analytical Grammar with mine. I called and personally talked with the lady who wrote it and she was really helpful. On their website they have a video you can watch where they explain their whole program and the why's and how's of it all..
I know alot of people here seem to like Growing with Grammar. It looked good too but I'd already gone with JAG.
Good luck! :)

We used R&S and then switched to another program and found ourselves back with R&S.
Here's a thought...my kids originally didn't want to go back to R&S, even thought I really liked it. We changed the way we used it, more oral lessons, more working together on the whiteboard, using the worksheets, etc. Now they are just fine and dandy happy with it. I love R&S for it's thoroughness.
Maybe instead of looking for something new, you can shake up what you already have an like to make it more appealing to the youngsters.

We used BJU for it and probably will through high school. I loved the way it was arranged. There were 16 chapters (8 on grammar, 8 different style writing projects). Every other one was writing. Once you get to 7th, there is writing at the end of just about every chapter. I haven't looked at high school, only through 8th.

I used Abeka with my older son and liked it well enough to start it with my younger son this past year. We'll be in level B next year, too.

Thanks ladies! :)
We went today to the used homeschool bookstore here and looked through several things. My dd was really drawn to the Abeka book. So we got her Book C to start in (everything in Book B she had already covered).

Rod & Staff. Ds doesn't love it, but it gets the job done. We always did most of it orally, but towards the end of the 4th grade book I also started Skipping a lot more exercises (as long as ds understood what he was doing), and shortening the lessons made ds dislike Rod & Staff less

ABeka, Rod & Staff, BJU, Easy Grammar. My favorite is ABeka. To the point, easy to use, plenty of practice if you need it, colorful in younger grades. I like the kids to use the red Easy Grammar once. It gives a good "different" look at grammar.
