Grammar prep before The Latin Road

My ds will be in 6th grade next year and I would like to use the new introductory book from The Latin Road to English Grammar called The Bridge to the Latin Road... He has completed Easy Grammar 3/4 and 5/6 and he did quite well with those. My concern is that since EG is considered a less challenging grammar program than others, will he have a good enough base to start with Bridge to Latin Road? I was considering doing the first year of Analytical grammar this summer. Any advice?

My son, who is 7th grade, is about to complete the volume 1 of Latin Road to English Grammar. The majority of his grammar training came from Easy Grammar and Daily Grams. He has done extremely well in the Latin Road. :)
