I've heard that some people have the bindings of their books cut off and perhaps spiral bound to make them easier to use. Where do you get this done and about how much did it cost?
Thanks!

I did mine at Office Max. I had the bindings cut and had them 3-hole punched to fit into a 3-ring binder. I like it that way because I can remove the pages I need to copy easier.

Most often at Kinko's. Office Max doesn't always have the equipment that Kinko's does; the Office Max near me, for example, did not have the equipment to drill a 100-page book, so the employee had to do several pages at a time. That isn't a big deal unless you're doing *lots* of pages/books at one time.
I also have my books drilled for three holes rather than comb-bound. I could remove just one sub-unit from my KONOS volume, dd could take out just the Easy Grammar pages she was working on, etc.

Staples... The price depends on how many pages the book has and whether or not they remember to charge you for cutting it! :)
It costs $2 or less to cut, and up to about $2.50 for the binding.

I do this with most of my workbook type books...especially the ones I have to do a lot of photo copying.
I take mine to Office Depot usually. They off the "star" (?) program for teachers to receive a discount.

How big can the book be and what type of binding do you put on?
I did that to my MOH books.
Then my sister and I sat there and put them in plastic sleeves....not sure if I would do it that way again.....:001_huh:
I will get the bindings cut.

I just did this to Phonics Pathways. It's a pretty large book and it cost less than $3 at Staples to spiral bind it. I'm VERY pleased.
