View Full Version : FLL3: Is this something I could teach to ds8 & ds7 at the same time?

How long does a lesson take? Is there any part they can do independently? Would it work to teach them both at the same time?

You could definitely teach them at the same time. They would each need their own student pages. It takes about 10 minutes for me to do it with my 9 year old. They do not work independently.

I've been through FLL 1 but could never make it through FLL 2 (um, it became a bit mind-numbing, since I had one in FLL 1 and 1 in FLL 2).
Do you think FLL3 is different enough from FLL1&2 that I can handle it?

It is different. You have an instructor book and a student book. You read the lesson to the children, and then they do the exercises in their book when indicated. I does not seem to go over the same simple things over and over and over. It seems to progress a bit faster. I like it because it tells us exactly what to do. It is repetitive enough for my son to get it. I really like that it includes poems, narration and dictation. Take a look at the sample pages on the website and see if it appeals to you. I would be less mind-numbing since you will have both doing it at the same time.

I use FLL3 with my 7 and 9 yr olds. We do it together and it takes about 10 minutes. The retention is impressive -- it is super simple and very thorough. Go for it!
