What grades would you use this for?
Also, do I need the Teacher's book?
Also, any suggestions on what else to use if you don't use this?
Thanks

If you're talking about Themes to Remember Classical music then I use it for my 6th, 3rd, 2nd, and K'er. We do it on Fridays (very informally) and my dc love it. I also bought the cd with the game on it-Can you name that classical tune? We do that in the car. I know there are other moms who use Classical Magic and they say it's good. I don't know if you're looking for a formal music instruction or not. For now, Themes to Remember works great for us. My dc always hear classical music in movies or commercials, and they always recognize who plays it! HTH a bit!

I forgot, I did purchase the TM, but I never use it!

You can use it for K- whenever because it will be the child who says, "I'm too old for this." Although *I'm* not too old for it at all, I love it.
The TM is for classroom use and not worth purchasing. Classicalmagic.net has a six year schedule you can choose to follow or just read in the book and learn the songs/lyrics. My ds3 recognizes and tries to sing along to a few songs already. Read more at ClassicalMagic.net all the benefits of the program, musical term vocabulary, orchestra, opera, chronological music study, biographies, etc.

Is there anything I can add for my 6th grader?

That's up to you, I know I have my eye on The Spiritual Lives of the Composers and The Gift of Music for when my children are older and that they will have to an essay or report about the composer and his/her works.
How did [insert composer's name here] influence his times?
What were his motivations to produce [composition name here]?
Opal Wheeler has wonderful composer biographies at Zeebok Publishing, google the name for the website, I think they are at Singnlearn.com as well. There are also unit studies that your 6th grader can do.
I hope this helps!

We use Themes to Remember also. My dd's LOVE it. I purchased book 1, 2 & karaoke for kids. We just cracked open the first book and started in. I made up a biography sheet for each composer that my dd7 fills in and we learn the lyrics & listen to the songs each week. We're in no rush... we just take our time and do it when we can. One thing my dd's enjoy is taking the information they learn about a particular composer (say Handel) and then re-enacting the story in a play format for dad, grandma, etc... My girls are in pre-k and 2nd grade and they both enjoy it.
