Ok, my family and I love old shows, and movies. In fact, my oldest son loves Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, and any classic movie. We also love old shows like I Love Lucy, Gilligan's Island, etc. And, about a month ago, we watched the first Indiana Jones which they loved.
So, is the new Indiana Jones and Get Smart movies worth seeing? Are they suitable for kids 11 and 12 years of age?
It really stinks when they make remakes of movies/shows that should be kid-friendly but it up with PG-13.

Dh and I enjoyed the new Indiana Jones. I would let my 11yo watch it, but I'm more lenient than some. I really don't remember anything someone with stricter standards would mind, but I'm not used to looking for some of those things and they may just not have stuck out to me.

I saw both and we enjoyed them. I wouldn't let my kids watch them, but they're still young and I'm very strict. I know a lot of people who did take their preteens to Indiana Jones--I don't recall any skin, just some scariness and plenty of goofy stuff. Get Smart had quite a few racy jokes, and some great stunts. None of it was particularly scary.
Oh yeah: and Steve Corell moons the screen at the end, which I could have lived without.

Indian Jones is pretty much in line with the previous three movies as far as style. If you're ok with the first three, then the new one should be fine.
Get Smart, however, has been a bit modernized. I have no idea how much your kids would pick up on, but it's full of inuendos. All of them went over my 8 yo's head, as I hoped, but I'm not sure about older kids.
If you were only going to go to one, I'd suggest Indiana Jones.

I just saw Get Smart last night with my dh, and I wouldn't let my kids see it with out our TV Guardian DVD player because of the language.

I saw Indiana Jones with my dh. We will not be taking the kids to see it because of the language. I was really disappointed because of the end result of the "treasure hunt" (I don't want to give anything away). I thought the originals were much better.

My dh went to see Get Smart and left about half way through. He said it was awful and no way 12 ds could see it. My SIL saw Indiana Jones and was very disappointed, but she didn't say if it was kid friendly or not, just badly done.
