I'm out of bird food- can I use hamster vittles until i get to the store? (m)

No idea about the hamster food. I know when I had zebra finches we supplimented their diet (because they had hatchlings) with egg. I boiled them and chopped it up for them. Gave them shell and all. The shell was good for them.

They loved it. I wonder if this would work for any bird or if it just a zebra finch thing. :rolleyes:

not too sure, but sounds good. This is just a regular, old parakeet. I'm thinking maybe i could throw a few sunflower seeds or something in there. Thanks for the tip anyway!

Sorry, I know this has nothing to do with education except that the bird is in our school room! Thanks!If the bird will eat it. Be warned that small birds like parakeets can starve to death very quickly. If he won't eat the hamster food, you need to give him something he will eat pretty quickly.

Yikes! I think I may have to go to the store! We can't handle the parakeet dying right now. Then it'll be all my fault that I killed our little Violet! Thanks for the advice!
