He was going to get some healthy foods since he is trying to workout and get all muscular. I texted him with a list for us. He was amazed at the amount of food he was able to get for $50. I think this will encourage him to eat out a lot less.

I sent my girls to the store (15 and 17) with some money but no list. They needed some dinner food and some snacks. They were shocked at how expensive some of the prepared foods were - pizzas and frozen dinners - and suddenly they had to choose carefully how to spend $25.

I agree it was a great learning experience.

There's nothing like the grocery store for a reality check!

did you ever in your life imagine that you could text a grocery list from home to your child's hand at the store? makes you wonder what life will be like when our kids are our age, and have kids of their own.

"and do you ever think of that technology?"

I did think it was funny and strange. I never really send my grocery list by text message before. It's kind of amazing, isn't it.
