I'm trying so hard to get through this book but I am just dragging along. I am about halfway through. If you have read this, and enjoyed it, can you tell me if it picks up at some point? I love Elisabeth Eliot but I'm really reconsidering finishing this. Will I have gained something (insight, perspective, etc.) by finishing?

Angela, I really liked it, but I know there's another one out there about Amy Carmichael that is really good, I don't remember who wrote it, but, I read it before the Elizabeth Elliot one and I remember thinking I liked it better. Sorry, not much help!

I was fascinated all throughout. However, I was really impacted by Amy Carmichael's life when I was 10 or 11 yo. One of my AWANA leaders did a unit on Amy Carmichael for several weeks one year, and my interest was really captured by her life and the ideas that governed her choices. My interest has stayed piqued all these years, so I was overjoyed by EE's book and poured over it with great interest.

this was one of the only books in my life I never finished. I like to finish what I start but with this book I just couldn't do it for some reason. That was years ago though. It will be interesting to see what you decide. I'll check back soon!

There is a shorter paperback one called "For The Sake of The Children" I think. It is really good, much better than A Chance To die, in my opinion.

I read this and I had a hard time with it. I almost gave up but decided to stick with it and I was really glad I did. Her commitment to the Lord and her ministry to India were so inspiring.
