did you know that you can just go there and order your kids personal pan pizzas to go and not pay a thing and have a completely free lunch for your children!!
My children sometimes baulk at having to go out and I needed to go to the library before it snows, so I told them that we could stop by Pizza Hut and get personal pan pizzas to go. They were thrilled and it was a free lunch! Of course I just came home and ate, but I don't really have the extra money to go out to eat right now. Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Yes, we do this often. Although, it is really more of a snack for my boys. Sometimes we will go for the buffet lunch and then get the personal pizza to go...for later.

Yes, it is great. My oldest is now too old, but my middle child loves for me to take just him.

although it might be too late this year to sign up. Homeschoolers can sign up their K-6 kids. We had 4 kids participating this year and for us, it's our treat to go out to PIzza Hut once each month to eat dinner. It does add up even w/ the free pizza. Drink prices there are horrendously expensive...like $2.50 or something! We paid more for drinks than pizza! I'm going to try making a lunch run, no drinks, just pizza!

We have been doing it since ds9 was in 1st. Now they have it for prereaders also. My ds5 can have free pizza just for have books read to him.
It is a great program!
We now are able to participate through our HS co-op. I think the first year though, we just applied through the website without a group.

Yes! We were running out to do some errands one day this week and I called to order the pizzas. I had my children pack water bottles so I wouldn't need to buy them drinks. They ate the pizza in the car, and were really happy about it. I personally don't really care for PH pizza, but we don't eat out often, so it's a major treat for my kids.
Oh! When I called to order I mentioned that I was using Book It! coupons and the guy told me that I had to bring the children in with me to prove that they were truly getting the pizzas. YMMV.

We haven't done Book IT for years (we outgrew them, sniff!) but I loved the fact they gave you (the teacher) all the coupons at one time. Then you (the teacher) get to determine when the student has earned the free pizzas :)

We might have used this in the past. Hmmm. I may re-think the strategy.
Just heard a neighbor boy ask William "Do you *like* to read?"
"Sure."
"Do you have AR? We have AR. You have to read books then take tests on them. I used to like to read, but now I don't."
Grrr. What we do to children in the name of 'education!'

Ours too! I love it. We splurged today and I got drinks for everyone (we usually have water), and my total for 6 of us was $10.25. That will increase soon though, as I'll have to start paying for my youngest son <sniff, sniff>
