Last night DH called the local high school's math/science teacher (another homeschool dad) to get some input on some books we were considering for this fall.
It's a small school district and he teaches all of the science and upper level math. He has no idea what books they will be using this fall. The school board has decided that they are going to move to a "one publisher fits all" system for K-12. They are right now deciding which publisher that will be.
The teacher is not happy about it and has already submitted other books to the school board for special consideration outside of their "one publisher" stance. I don't even use one publisher for a subject year-to-year or child-to-child. While it would certainly "simplify" the ordering process, I can't imagine. Are other school districts like this?
