I am just finishing up TOG's year 1 unit 2. I only bought those two units in the fall, because I wasn't sure how I'd like it. Well now that we've almost finished I'm thinking of going with something else for the rest of the year, specifically Ancient Greece and Rome. I read that you use TQ and Guerbner, I tried the Guerber books a couple of years ago (2nd and 4th)and it was too much. But now that my girls are older (5th and 7th) I think the could read them, themselves. I also read that you made a middle ages schedule : ), could you give me a peek at it maybe?? I would work better from a formal schedule than TQ alone.
Now that I'm thinking of it, perhaps just reading Guerber as written would work, I really like these books, and add in use TQ to add in fiction. What do you think??
Thanks
Chris

I made a very very simple schedule for Rome/Greece...nothing to look at. (I made a nicer one for Middle Ages.)
The one for Rome and Greece was done very lightly and in sort of a hurry because we decided to do it late in the year. We too started out trying TOG ancients.

I think we did Rome over 13 weeks and Greece over 7. I just took the Rome book, divided it up over 13 weeks, then divided those amount of pages over 4 days. It came out roughly to 3-4 chapters a week. Which is only a few pages a week really. We went slow in order to add in literature.

TQ does Guerber slightly out of order and I didn't want to read it that way. My schedule has Guerber in order and TQ slightly out of order.

If you want it I can e-mail it to you...but really..it isn't much.

I would love it if you could. I think we must live in parallel universes because we will have just about 20 weeks to finish Greece and cover Rome. My email is charis209@yahoo.com
thanks!
