4 yr old ds listening in and understanding

I was reading about Polycarp from Trial and Triumph to ds8 while ds4 was playing nearby. After I finished ds4 came over and said, "Mommy the Romans were saying the christians were godless but they were the ones that were godless because they did not worship the real God. They worshipped gods that were fake."
I never thought that he was understanding so much of ds8's history lessons.
