teaches location geography. I am not looking for games, but something that will teach countries, states, and capitals and keep track of progress? We have not done enough of this tyoe of geography. If this does not exist is there something my 12 year old can do independantly?
Thanks,
Sheri

The site calls them geography games, but they are more like drill and practice. My kids do enjoy them though.

We really enjoy the website as well. It has many different levels and ways to approach geography. I highly recommend giving it a look.

Thanks so much! I've made a bookmark folder for 2008-9 school year and I've added this. It looks great.

seterra is a free downloadable program. Extremely simple to use, game-like, kids like it and it covers states, countries, capitals, etc, etc. It rocks. And, it's totally free! Google it!

I'm another fan of Seterra....actually I've become addicted to it!! For the first time in my life I know where all the countries of the world are...at least all that are listed on Seterra. My kids are starting to get into it, too. We're having a ball with this. I've offered my children $10.00 for anyone who can score over a 90% on all the countries of the world. I've actually scored 100% myself. :001_smile:
