Subscriptions -- I'm confused.

I was enjoying using the "subscribed threads" feature - it helped me find posts that I had expressed interest in before without having to scroll through the whole board. But, now that there are more threads than can fit on one page, I'm finding that some of the oldest threads are still showing up on the first page, or at the top of the list. These are bold typed, whereas others are not. I presume this is because the thread contains posts I have not read, but I am no longer interested in reading every single post. I thought if I clicked on the thread starter post it would take care of it - no luck.

It's a small problem, but could anyone offer any tips on this?
