I had these on my list, and then crossed them off, trying to get the money pared down. I told dh that I really wanted them though, and he told me to get it anyways.....my RR order just came today and I just popped one in to see what it sounded like. Wow! It is so enthralling. Jim Weiss reads it much better than I do  I am so so glad I got them. Even if I didn't use SOTW, these would be an excellent buy.

I have all 4 sets and we've really enjoyed listening to all of them. Whether you're using SOTW as your spine or not, they make a wonderful enrichment tool. I anticipate using them again when we move into our second history cycle.

My kids love them too! My 8 year old listened to the first two through 2-3 times last year. That is after we'd read them out loud and done time lines for them:)

We are listening to bk 3 right now. We do about a chapter or two a session around lunch time. It's a great way for us to fill in the gaps.... especially since I didn't have to pay for it. I'm sooo glad our library has all these!

Thank you for this thread. I have the CDs on my list too and was thinking of taking them off to shave some money.

We don't have these, but I think we'll get them for next year. I just wanted to put in a plug for Jim Weiss, all of his cds are fantastic. Check out his site www.greathall.com (http://www.greathall.com) We have Good Night, Tell Me a Story, The Queen's Pirate, Treasure Island, Robinhood and The Three Musketeers, and King Arthur, and my kids love every one and have learned so much. They listen to them during quiet time and at bedtime. We have checked out Animal Tales and Just So Stories from the library and those were good too. He really knows how to tell a story!

Do any of you not buy the book but just listen to the CDs and use the activity guide?
I also love the SOTW 1 on CD and thinking about just buying the CDs for SOTW 3 and trying to use the AG with them.
