My 9 year old dd had an accident on the trampoline today. She came down on her ankle and has broken it in two places. We are having a mom/daughter sleep over at the hospital tonight. Tomorrow they will do a CT Scan and then they will most likely do surgery on Friday morning. She is doing okay now, but getting the IV in was not fun. Anyway, if you could all say a prayer for her, we would really appreciate it. Her name is Savannah and she is really afraid of this surgery. Thanks so much!

He was very sore when he woke up (because they had to manipulate the arm back into place before pinning it) but it was fine a day later. He was just hard to slow down for the next nine weeks (two casts, each three weeks, with the pin taken out in between, plus three weeks of 'rest').

I'm sorry to hear that. You are all in our prayers. My brother had a very bad break in his arm on the trampoline, and I can understand how upsetting this is!

She broke it very thoroughly, and needed three pins put in under general.

In our case, what comforted her was hearing how good she had it compared to her twin brother, who spent two days in a hospital in Costa Rica just 6 weeks before she broke her arm. Hospitals in America have TVs and much better food! And we speak the language. :)

I hope your daughter is able to be calm and that all goes well. Our doctors were great (they even let her bring her ratty stuffed animal into the surgery).

I'm sorry, Kari! I'll pray too!

My dd broke her arm just above her elbow when she was 9 and had to have pins put in. I thought you'd like to know that the first 2-3 days at home were tough (painful to move, etc.), but then it was better (not "all better," but better). During this time, I had her sit on the couch and watch videos -- they really helped take her mind off of it!

I'm so sorry!!! Know that's hard for all of you, and frankly, that's why trampoline's really scare me. My youngest is involved in gymnastics, and everytime she's on the tramp (or on one at a friend's) I catch my breath a little.

You'll be in my thoughts.

I will keep you both in my prayers. This is hard for both of you I am sure. Children bounce back easier than we do just keep that in mind. Hugs to you both.
