I'm looking at some curriculum (Galore Park and others) that are British. They indicate levels as "Year 5, Year 6" etc. Could you tell me to approximately what age student those years would correspond? My son is 8 (not 9 until Aug.) and he is age-appropriate to a Canadian grade 3.
I realise that levels are really just numbers, but I'm trying to figure out which books may be way beyond him, or which might be possible.
TIA. :)

In the UK we number the year that is K in the US, so the equivalent years are
UK year 1 is US K, age 5 -6
UK year 2 is US 1st grade, age 6-7
UK year 3 is US 2nd grade, age 7-8
UK year 4 is US 3rd grade, age 8-9 etc.
It sounds like your son would be a young year 4. I'd have a look at the samples and decide whether year 4 or year 3 would be more appropriate.
