Wow! It was so cool. I cannot believe how quiet it ran. Lots of neat features available. But there is a waiting list. Likely up to 6 months or so. Is it like this everywhere? I think dh is going to want one. Nice car!

My dh and I have a friend with one, very quiet, nice ride. Too small for us. I'm waiting for an affordable hybrid mini van. :D

I do like my van. It is a smaller van, but has 3 rows. It really only seats 6, in my opinion. The middle back has no shoulder belt. But we have 2 kids. For dh to commute, Prius would be perfect. And for my taking them places, it would be fine too. We rode 3 in the back for the testing last night. It was doable, but not spacious. I could haul their friends around just fine, though. I just hate the long waiting period. Once I decide to do something, I just want to move on it! Patience is not something I hold well sometimes.

Dh's car is nearly 12 years old. My van is almost 8. We want to get something ready before the car dies. We want to plan and to be proactive rather than reactive. We like that the Prius is so clean. Hopefully, we can manage to do that. It is a bit pricey. But everything is!

Our Toyota dealer has one on the lot, for $29K! *cough, sputter, choke* My best pal got a used one and found it in Iowa (before the flooding). I think nowadays, the demand for hybrids and economical cars is going to exceed the supply.

Yeah, the bells and whistles ones are quite high. We need to see the costs on a more basic model and run some numbers to see if it makes sense in the long run. Given the price of gas, it might. We'll just have to see. But not the $29K one. I sputter at that too. I sputter at the base model even. But when we throw in the gas and usage over time, we'll have to see what the difference would be in other models as well.

I ordered one three weeks ago. Our local dealer didn't even have one for me to drive. I ordered it anyhow. I was told it could take up to 4 month to arrive. We are not trading cars. Our son has been driving for a year now and attends community college full time. I just got sick of being stuck at home without wheels. Now we will share the car with great gas mileage and whoever is going the shortest distance will take my Honda Pilot.

Maybe it's location because they are all over Seattle.

I think I remember that you're in Knoxville. We bought our van at the toyota place in Corbin, KY. Last fall he was bragging how they had Prius' when others had waiting lists. I don't know if that still holds true, but you could check it out. Corbin is an hour and a half from Knoxville.

If gas mileage is what you are going for, DH is getting 45 out of his Yaris. For half the price of the Prius.

Close to Knoxville. We went to a Knox. dealer. They had one only because their rental portion had one. Otherwise, no such luck to even see one. We are just beginning the search for what we are getting next. We will keep that in mind when we make a decision! Thanks!

Good to know! We have only just begun the process of looking. We still have others to research and so forth. We will look at that one too. Thanks!
