Is this worthwhile? I think my son would like this next year when we do LCI. Thanks!

We are using it this year and it is going well for LCI. It really does provide additional reinforcement of each lesson. So far, it isn't fun games. There is a word search for the vocab, parsing of the grammar, a derivative crossword, and a grammar crossword. The boys do them without complaining. I think my older ds 11 actually likes it. He says that Latin is his favorite subject. I think ds 9 just does it as part of his day. We do 1 page a day 4/wk. I do plan to use book 2 next year.

My kiddos actually like it. They wanted to know why last year we didn't make Latin so fun! LOL! So, yes, it's a big hit around here.

We had a different experience with LL. It was fun in the beginning, but my boys got tired of the same format for each lesson very quickly. We didn't finish all 25 lessons.

Frankly, I can't imagine the info "sticking" without it. (And, my 4th grader's book this year is *so much* better than my older son's was last year.) At the beginning of the year, I was worried about my 4th gr not really being ready for LCII in 5th, but he is blowing me away. I think the exercises in the Ludere are really what clicks with him - he can decline so much faster than I can.

Not fun like a video game, but....well, not much is! =)

We've used LL for both LC1 and LC2. I think they are very effective for grammar reinforcement. You've GOT to get those endings right to make the crossword puzzle come out right. My son likes it, my daughter tolerates it, but it works!

Yes, we use them. I think the reinforcement really helps. Sometimes there is a groan over the grammar crossword, but otherwise they do the puzzles willingly. I think it adds interest.

I've been using them also, but as part of the review week (or when I need a filler!)

My 9 yo can do them by himself - but my 7 yo can really only do the word searches. I think I'd have to sit with her to do the other puzzles. And right now.

My kid likes it, though I think the grammar crossword is by far the most useful. I'm not convinced of the educational value of word searches (though I like them). Parse strings is tricky but good too.

I'm not convinced of the educational value of word searches (though I like them).

For my dc, I like the Word Searches because they reinforce proper spelling of the Latin vocabulary. I agree that the Grammar Crossword puzzles are the most rigorous.
