According to my measurements I should wear a 36B. The band on these are a little too snug but the cup fits perfectly. A 38 band fits perfectly but an A cup is too small and a B cup is too big. I swear that I have tried on 50 different bras and have yet to find a perfect fit. At this point, I am tired of trying on bras and just want to pick a size and order from VS.

When I weighed 135 the 38Bs fit just right but then I lost 20 lbs. (not on purpose) and have the current problem. My weight is back on its way up again so do I buy the 36B and get an extender to give me a little breathing room in the band or buy the 38B and with the knowledge that I will probably eventually fill them up again?

I need new bras yesterday and I am really hoping not to have to buy more again in six months. By the way, does anyone else have this problem or am I just weird?

:lol:I opened this thread fully prepared to tell you that you'll never find the right size they will either be too small or too big....it might be the right size one year and the wrong size the next.....

How funny....I was right, and we weren't even talking about the same kinds of bookshelves.

Can you go to a good booKshelf store and have them help you? Maybe there is a brand that's made to fit your body type? If that's not possible, I'd get the cup size that fits best with an extender.

I dunno, other than that. I HATE shopping for the things. I finally found some that I like and then had Schmooey so no normal shelving here for a while. :glare:

I feel for you!

You need to have a bra fitting done with the help of a bra "professional." Have you asked someone in the lingerie dept. to help you? They are very helpful and they know the differences in brands (they seem to run quite differently)...

The elastic in your bra will loosen up if you sleep in it or wear it over extended periods of time. Something about the body heat generated makes the elastic lose its tightness. It may be just that your old ones have loosened up so much that the new ones feel too tight, even though they are about right. I'd buy just one of the 36B to experiment with. See if wearing it couple of days makes it feel more comfortable, as you get used to wearing a bra that fits correctly again. If it still feels too tight after a few days, you could try sleeping in it one or two nights to relax that elastic. Be careful, though, or it could end up too big!

I you have a Nordstrom nearby, go there and get professionally fitted.

If you don't, the best booKshelf measuring advice I've found is at www.breakoutbras.com
They have great service, too, by the way. They'll match any price, and I think they have free shipping both ways (not positive about that).

Have you found the measurements on this site to work for you? They don't seem right to me. It says to take the measurement around your ribcage, under your books where your bra band sits and this will be your band size. This would give me a 31. If I rounded to the next even number it would be a 32. I couldn't even fasten a 32. A 36 is very snug. Every other site, catalog, book, etc. I have ever seen says that you must take that number and add 5 to ge tyour band size. So in my case it would be 36 which is technically the right size bra for me although the band is uncomfortably tight to me. I have been fitted and the right size is a 36B but as I said that feels too tight to me.

Well, I have to lead off with... does EVERYONE have ths problem?
Ok, that said, I think it's VS that has half cup sizes, but I could be mistaken about the store. I personally, could use a half size band and cup (I went to Dillard's and had a sizing. It's not so bad and it's free) Too bad I can't grow half a cup size and shrink have a band size (Wishful thinking)

Anyway, good look and just know you are not alone with ths dilemma. You would think they would have better designs by now. Or, maybe I'm just too cheap to buy good ones.

Go get fitted. It makes a world of difference. I wouldn't have believed it but all the time I was wearing a bra that was not the right size for me.

There are some bra lines that come in half-cups up to B.
