My 8 month old daughter still refuses to eat baby food of any kind. I have tried just about everything. She won't eat food from the table either. Should I worry yet? Her 9 month appt isn't until next month. She takes bottles fine. I put cereal in her bed time bottle to help her sleep longer. Thanks.
I nursed my dd exclusively until 9 months - she had no other food or drink til that point. And she wasn't really into solid food til well over a year, so we just skipped a lot of the "baby" food and moved her into smushed up "real" food.

until her new tooth came in!
In retrospect I realized that it was hurting her to have that spoon come in her mouth. She 9 months in 2 days and she takes the spoon cheerfully!
Don't worry, just keep on trying each day a little bit. Switching to fruits helped here too. Usually I start with veggies first.

I wouldn't worry as long as she's still taking her bottle just fine. Both of my boys were exclusively breastfed for a year and had no trouble switching to solids at that point. The older one especially gagged on everything but breastmilk till he was 11 months. It's really not uncommon for an 8-month-old to not be eating much baby food.
And honestly, baby food's a hassle. I thought it was a lot easier to stick to breastmilk/formula till they could feed themselves.

The first two didn't make the switch from breast to table until 1yr. The next was about 11 mos. The fourth... I don't know when she started eating! LOL! How embarrassing! LOL! But the upside is that we saved a fortune by not having to buy "baby foods". When they began eating, I'd nurse first, then offer up the table foods, so I didn't have to worry about nutrition concerns. Worked well for us.
