I'm looking for inspiration. I want to train them on how to clean it. Any good ideas for the shower/tub combo? That is the part I loathe the most.

Flylady method - I swear by it. Give the bathroom a good once-over cleaning. Then, teach them to spray and wipe the sink and counter every day, the mirror as needed. With the damp paper towel they just used, wipe down the toilet starting with the tank and working around to the seat and rim. Then swish the bowl with the toilet brush. For the shower, I clean it when I am in it. I keep a scrubbie and just put some soap on it and scrub one wall a day, working my way around. Do this everyday and the bathroom stays clean and it takes about five minutes.
Leave paper towels and a bottle of windex on the counter and a toilet brush in a container of cleaning solution. I use a utensil holder to hold the toilet brush - the kind that you keep all your spatulas in, etc. and for the cleaning solution, I fill it with water and spare bits of soap or if I bought a shampoo I don't like, I squirt a bunch of that in there. It doesn't have to be heavy-duty because it is for a quick clean everyday, so the toilet doesn't really get dirty.
This is what works for us. Otherwise I'd hate to clean the bathroom.

This is what we do as well. I haven't cleaned the kids' bathroom in years.

Have the kids do it :D
The bathroom cleaning plan is as follows:
10 year old wipes the sink and counter, and empties trash - daily. The teenagers wipe the floor, scrub the stall, and wipe down the toilet (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday).
The 7 year old wipes down the 1/2 bath and empties the trash - daily.

The kids' bathroom has stayed cleaner (not sparkling, yet) since we started Motivated Moms (http://www.motivatedmoms.com/).
The kids are still learning... getting better. The Motivated Moms chore planner breaks up the cleaning into small chunks, so instead of much wailing about cleaning the whole bathroom all at once, there is only slight grumbling about cleaning one or two things in there at a time. (Wiping out the sinks is a daily thing, tub and shower is every 2 weeks, I think.)
As long as we keep up with the schedule, the bathroom stays pretty clean.
Hee hee, and if the kids cut corners, it soon becomes obvious where they need to focus more attention. Behind the toilet, the corners of the shower, etc. They are in the process of learning that a thorough cleaning job is actually less work than having to go back and clean up the missed spots later on. It's easier to just keep it clean than let it go and have extra work later.

Thank you, Ladies! I am still working on the Flylady thing. I've just taken a Scarlett O'Hara approach to their bathroom/science project. It's scary in there! http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sick/sick0022.gif (http://www.allboxingstats.com/)

There is one for the toilet and one for the bathtub. That might make it easier for your older kids to help with the cleaning of the tub/shower. My 9 yo ds helps clean the kids' bathroom three times a week. He wipes everything down (with wet rags followed by disinfecting wipes) and I scrub the toilet and tub. I don't want him spraying chemicals. If I had some of those scrubbers, I'd let him clean the tub. I might have to put some on the grocery list (but we are trying to get by with only necessities for the next month or two).

I made a chart listing in order the things that needed to be done in detail for their bathroom. I also found pictures of some things and put those next to it for my visual learners. I laminated the chart and posted it in the medicine cabinet with velcro tabs.
Then I made a cleaning kit that is kept under the sink for them, so they don't have to search for what they need.
They have been cleaning their own bathroom weekly since July 2006, when we moved into to this house. I may have cleaned it twice during that time.
