SOTW and Logic Stage

Just curious after reading the responses to my earlier question about History Ody.. One mom under a different post says she uses SOTW for this. So what have you done? AND if there is another secular logic stage history program out there comparable to SOTW, would you mind sharing? Thank you all so much. Your advice and insight is always so helpful.

We're still in our first history cycle, doing SOTW Vol 4 this year, and my older kids are in 6th and 8th grade. Since SWB says that SOTW 4 is written for 4th-8th grades, I don't have any heartburn about using it at that level. My 8th grader outlines and writes a summary for each chapter, and they both do tons of supplementary reading.

I will be using SOTW, along with other things, for logic stage. I also use Joy Hakim's History of US for American studies during this time period.
