I have not done core 2 or the highschool level cores yet, but have all the others, so I think that I can say that there isn't a time when states and capitals are specifically studied. If you use the markable map a lot, the kids seem to pick up geography that way. In cores 3 and 4, you map a lot of US geography. You would have to point out capitals yourself though, or supplement with something that emphasizes US geography more. Core 2 incorporates World geography, right? Doesn't it use the audio memory program? If that works for you for World geography, maybe they have a US geography one that you could use with cores 3 and 4.

Well I have done Core 2, so I can fill in that gap. The Geography book/songs do cover the states, not the capitals. They are great, if you kids like them. Mine were one of the apparent few who did not. (Waaaaa!)

This resource covers the whole world, so it is a small part of Core 2 for a couple of weeks, not a main focus.

Thanks for clarifying that Heather. My kids will probably like it.
